Cape Town to host the World Robot Olympiad international final in 2028

Cape Town will host the World Robot Olympiad International Final in 2028, bringing the global robotics education competition to South Africa.

The event is expected to draw young innovators from around the world to venues including the Cape Town International Convention Centre, with a focus on schools, skills and STEM opportunity across Africa.

For South Africa, the hosting win is both an education signal and a tech soft-power play: African talent on a global robotics stage, with local learners in the frame.
